Support for small businesses

We know this is a tough time for small businesses, and we want to support you as much as we can.

Here’s the help we can offer you and your business during the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Is your business in financial hardship?

If your small business is experiencing financial hardship because of the coronavirus pandemic, we can defer your annual or monthly business insurance premiums (excluding Workers Compensation) for up to six months.

Deferring the payment means your business will still be covered, but you won’t need to make a payment for up to six months.

You’re eligible to defer your business insurance premiums if your business has an annual turnover of less than $50 million (or a sum-insured asset value definition of up to $10 million).

To apply, get in touch with your area manager or authorised representative, or call our service team on 1300 934 934, before 31 December 2020.

We can also discuss other options with you that might ease your financial stress, like switching to monthly payments or reviewing how much cover you need during the pandemic.

 

Need to cancel your policy?

If you no longer need your cover, you can cancel your business insurance policy and we’ll refund the unused part of your premium payment.

So, for example, if you’re 6 months into a 12-month policy, we’ll refund half your premium payment.

Have your business premises closed?

It’s often more expensive to cover your business premises if they’re empty for long periods of time.

If your premises are usually occupied but now they’re empty, that would normally affect your premiums.

But until 31 December 2020, we won’t increase your premiums because your premises have become temporarily vacant during the coronavirus pandemic.

You’re eligible if your business has an annual turnover of less than $50 million (or a sum-insured asset value definition of up to $10 million).

If you’ve had to temporarily close your business premises and you need to update your policy, get in touch with your area manager or authorised representative, or call our service team on 1300 934 934.
