WFI is part of IAG, a leader in the general insurance industry. We've become a well-respected general insurer because of our commitment to client service. It's our people who have helped us achieve this reputation.

Career and development

IAG has well-established businesses in its home markets of Australia and New Zealand, and a growing presence in Asia.

This allows us to offer career and development opportunities far beyond the reach of just one function, one division or one country. We will do this by supporting the career aspirations of our people and by encouraging greater mobility across the Group. But it’s up to each of us to identify what we want from our career and to seek the opportunities that will get us there.

From flexible work options and generous superannuation contributions, to several types of leave, a healthy culture of acknowledgment for hard work and great supplier discounts, we pride ourself on being a great place to work.

By way of example, employees in Australia enjoy the following benefits:

Pay and Short Term Incentives

IAG’s approach to remuneration is about rewarding and recognising your performance. Your total potential reward is made up of your fixed pay (your base salary and superannuation) and for eligible employees, your short term incentive (STI).

Your fixed pay recognises your capability and performance in your role. Your fixed pay is reviewed annually at which time your manager may recommend an adjustment.

Eligible employees can participate in an STI plan. STIs ensure you are rewarded for your individual and team contribution to the wider success of our business. STIs are the “at risk” component of your total potential reward.

Flexible work and leave options

Flexible work arrangements and leave options that may be available to you include:

  • Flexible working - part-time, job share, variable hours and compressed working weeks.
  • The chance to buy 6 weeks extra leave for a shorter working year.
  • Leave without pay as a career break.
  • Mid Service Leave of 1 week annually on your 7th, 8th and 9th anniversary at IAG.
  • Long Service Leave of 2 months after 10 years of service.
  • Leave to volunteer, study or care for a family member.

Requests depend on your work circumstances and must be discussed with your manager.

Competitive superannuation

IAG’s superannuation rate of 13% is currently above the legislated minimum and is highly competitive compared to other companies.

Supplier discounts

Our suppliers offer IAG employees discounts in areas such as technology, health, transport, financial services, travel, leisure, lifestyle and appliances.

Diversity and inclusion

WFI is backed by IAG, and committed to creating a workforce and culture, where

We respect and value the different experiences of our people, and harness the opportunity and business benefits that diverse ideas and perspectives bring to our organisation and stakeholders.

To drive the future success of our company we need to attract and retain the best people.

Diversity is fundamental to this, because talent doesn’t confine itself to one gender or group of people. Attracting and retaining business leaders who are passionate about our customers and have a broad range of skills and experiences will encourage innovation and in turn, deliver an improved financial performance.

The IAG Graduate Program will equip you with the skills and experience to make informed decisions about your career. It will encourage you to explore your potential and provide you with tools, study opportunities and lots of support to help you achieve your career goals. The program has an 18 month duration, with intakes commencing each February.
